Gomukhasana- The Cow Face Pose
Benefits
  1. Strengthens the shoulders and hand muscles.
  2. Improves blood circulation to the hip joint, thigh muscles, and urinary bladder thereby improving their overall health.
How to do
  1. Keep the back, neck, head straight and sit with the legs outstretched.
  2. Fold the right leg and take the right foot under the left thigh. Toes should be stretched behind.
  3. Fold the left leg and take it over the right knee crossing over to the other side and the footrest on the ground.
  4. Try to keep both knees in the same line.
  5. Lift the left hand and fold it to take the palm close to the upper back. Now, fold the right hand from the lower side of the back to reach the left hand and hold it.
  6. Hold the position for a few breaths.
  7. Repeat on another side. Make sure whichever knee is up the same side hand will be on the upper back.
Who should avoid
  1. People with recent thighs surgery, hip surgery, or shoulder injury should seek a professional’s advice before doing this asana.
